NaTonia Monét (Actress, Dancer & Singer)

A native of Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of Florida State University, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. Dance has been an integral part of her life since the age of 4. However, being an overall entertainer has always been her dream…

Her mother decided to put her in ballet, when she noticed that her daughter was always dancing; grocery stores, day care, at home, every canvas was her stage. NaTonia’s core training includes the Richmond Ballet (nine years), Henrico High School’s Center for the Arts (4 years), and finally the Florida State University (4.5 years). Through these enrichments, she has danced various roles in Richmond Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’, played the alto saxophone, was a varsity cheerleader, participated in show choir, acted, was the recipient of The Brad Boynton Award for Excellence in the Arts, became the Artistic Director of Phlava Dance Company, danced in numerous shows, as well as studied with various artists from Ron Brown to Suzanne Farrell.

Currently living in New York City, NaTonia recently returned from Seoul, Korea as an emergency replacement in the South Korean Tour of the Broadway musical DREAMGIRLS. Prior to that, she could be seen playing the role of ‘Michelle’ in Sister Act The Musical at Walnut Street Theatre (The Oldest Theatre in America) in Philadelphia, PA. She traveled the world for two years with the European & Asian tour of the Broadway Musical WEST SIDE STORY (2012- 2014) as the featured role of the blonde Puerto Rican ‘Consuela’, has danced in local music videos as well as a few of YouTube’s very own “THE KEY of AWESOME” parody videos, is featured in commercials and was even featured in a tribute/promo to one of her heroes (KOBE BRYANT) for the icon award given by the ESPYs July 2016. She can be seen as a Dancer in a SNL skit with Tracey Morgan for it’s 41st season. And after completing Improv 101 at Upright Citizens Brigade she started to write alongside Nikko Kimzin and perform in her own comedic webseries entitled: “The GREAT BLACK WAY“, with the most popular episode having over 84,000 views.

The term “Triple Threat” might come to mind once someone experiences the overall creativity and dynamism of her personality. Through the arts NaTonia Monét expresses her character and liberated individuality while following the path God intended her to be on… the path that leads to the stage.
